Pizzeria Kamikaze :: graphic novel released

asaf :: the story was originally serialized in Bipolar in five chapters. in this square format collection, the grey was turned into silver.

from the back cover " I think she cried at my funeral. It’s not like I’m conceited or anything, but I’m pretty sure. Sometimes I can actually picture her talking about me to some guy she feels close to. Talking about me dying. About how they lowered me into the grave, kinda shrivelled up and pitiful, like an old chocolate bar. About how we never really got a chance. And afterwards the guy would stick it to her, and it would be all about making her feel better."
Pizzeria Kamikaze is about a guy with a broken heart who committed suicide only to find himself at Pizza Kamikaze, a regular day job in a world where everyone died before. now, it's about passing time.

"Touching, funny, romantic, mysterious, and unforgettable, Pizzeria Kamikaze is a reading experience that pulls you into its world even as it’s making you reflect on your own."

  2. Picked this up on Tuesday. Nicely put together . Love the printing and packaging.

Enjoyed it immensely when I originally read it in biPolar , but it really merits a another read as a single volume .

The drawing style really evolves and becomes more assured and lean by the end of the book. This is more evident when reading it all at once.

    Well done.

    Cheers, Dom

  6. hi guys - thanks and merci.

I have been working on this for 5 years, and it's true my drawing style has changed over time. something about repeating the same forms over and over again generates a form of simplification, like saying the same thing while using less words.

there will be a french edition of the book from publisher Actus Sud, previewed for Janvier 2007, along with Tomer's book, The Placebo Man. Hope to see you all at Angouleme... a bien tot!
