a week in Monterrey :: Mexico

tomer :: back from an intense visit at Monterrey, Mexico where the design university cedim graciously hosted me for a week long illustration workshop. the students, who where required to do the impossible- finish a piece *from sketch to final* per day, for five days- had original solutions with excellent results, and zero tolerance for fatigue. in the off hours i got to see some remarkable sites, joined by Federico and Oscar. a memorable moment at a downtown market included an extravagant showcase of saint death statues with a small replica of ghost rider among them, naturally filling in a spot.

The shot of the carcasses would make great reference for a painting. It reminded me of Seville to begin with!

  4. You don't know me but I've been following your work since I saw your first piece. I too just got back from Mexico, under different circumstances, and am always amazed at the art the culture is always inventing. I almost went to a University in Guadalajara to study art but decided on the Art Academy instead. I hope your travels were filled with beautiful landscapes, with colorful people and houses and lots and lots and lots of delicious food!
